Music and Storytelling

elfin knight and other stories picture

We are husband and wife duo, Jake and Suzanne Thomas living and barding on the sunny side of Titterstone Clee Hill near Ludlow.

A musician and a storyteller, together we sing songs and tell stories from a repertoire of traditional and original pieces.

We find our inspiration at the back of the sock drawer and places where no one else thinks to look!

The Elfin Knight

In 2017, we embarked on a new adventure, taking
"The Elfin Knight and Other Stories" out into the world!

On her sister’s wedding day, Mary wonders if it will ever be her turn to get married. But does she really want a husband, or is it a TRUE LOVER she requires? Maybe Auntie has the answers…

Inspired by a familiar 16th century ballad

Suzanne Thomas,

Based in South Shropshire, Suzanne began storytelling 9 years ago, when she set up “Cranesfield Bardic Arts” as part of the Serpent Festival on Clee Hill. Since then, her passion for sharing stories has taken her to schools, Shropshire Libraries, The National Trust and she made her debut at Festival at the Edge in 2014.

Growing up in the West Midlands, with holidays at the seaside, Suzanne found her love of stories, thanks to her Nana and “Bagpuss”. Nana would almost always know the legend of the cliff path or ruined castle they were visiting.

Suzanne loves to tell stories of the landscape, and can often be found on hilltops, with her travelling story dragon, Pratchett. Together they search beneath stones, and listen to whispers on the wind, gathering threads and weaving them into tales that want to be heard.

"An engaging and delightful teller"

- Michael Harvey, Storyteller.
